Termite Management
Termites are one of the most destructive pests that can affect Queensland properties, causing thousands of dollars in damage if left undetected. State Pest Management offers two comprehensive termite management options to protect your home or business, each designed for different situations and levels of protection as well as an inspection service.

Our Termite Management Options
We offer a service to identify and two distinct services to treat your property based needs and your budget:
Visual Termite Inspection – Regular monitoring to detect termite activity early and to continue to asses installed treatments
Treatments:
Termite Baiting System – An approach using monitoring and baiting stations
Termite Treated Zone – A chemical barrier providing long-term protection (our recommended option)
Visual Termite Inspection
What It Is
A visual termite inspection is a thorough examination of your property to detect any signs of termite activity, damage, or conditions conducive to infestation. Our qualified technicians inspect all accessible areas of your home or building, including subfloors, roof voids, interior spaces, and the exterior perimeter.
When You Need It
As a standalone service to check for termite presence
As part of a property purchase or sale
As an annual requirement to maintain your Termite Treated Zone warranty
When you suspect termite activity or want peace of mind
Regular inspections are essential for early detection. Australian Standards recommend annual termite inspections for most properties, with more frequent inspections (every 3-6 months) for high-risk areas.
What's Included
Comprehensive visual inspection of all accessible areas
Examination of interior and exterior walls, subfloors, and roof spaces
Assessment of moisture problems and conducive conditions
Use of specialized detection equipment including moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras
Detailed written report with findings, photographs, and recommendations
Discussion of results and any concerns with you on completion
Inspection Duration: Approximately 1 hour for an average 4-bedroom house
Cost: From $310 + GST for a standard 4-bedroom house (pricing varies with property size and complexity)
What Happens After
You'll receive a comprehensive report detailing our findings. If termites are detected, we'll discuss treatment options with you immediately. If no termites are found, we'll advise on any risk factors and recommend appropriate ongoing management.
Termite Baiting System
What It Is
Termite baiting is an approach that uses strategically placed monitoring stations to detect and eliminate termite colonies. This system works by attracting termites to bait stations, which are then treated to eliminate the colony at its source.
When It's Recommended
Termite baiting is ideal when:
A chemical barrier is not practical or warranted
Your building has multiple slabs or complex foundations
You have an inaccessible foundation or subfloor area
There are existing termite colonies that need elimination
Two Types of Baiting Systems
In-Ground Baiting Stations
Installed around the perimeter of your building, typically spaced 3-5 meters apart
Small round green disks visible at ground level
Checked and monitored every 3-6 months by our technicians
Designed to intercept termites before they reach your building
Above-Ground Baiting Stations
Gray boxes installed directly onto walls or surfaces where active termites are located
Used for treating existing termite infestations
Provides targeted treatment to eliminate active colonies
Monitored regularly until colony elimination is achieved
What's Included
Professional assessment of your property to determine optimal station placement
Installation of monitoring/baiting stations at strategic locations
Initial baiting material in all stations
Your first termite inspection 3 months post installation
Ongoing assessment and adjustments as needed
Installation Duration: Approximately 2 hours but varies depending on property size and complexity.
Visual Impact
In-ground stations appear as small round green disks at ground level, discreetly positioned around your property perimeter. Above-ground stations are gray boxes mounted to affected areas. Both are designed to be as unobtrusive as possible.
What Happens After
Our technicians will return for regular monitoring visits to check stations for termite activity. If termites are detected, we'll add active bait to eliminate the colony. You'll receive updates after each monitoring visit, and we'll continue treatment until the threat is eliminated.
Termite Treated Zone (Recommended)
What It Is
A Termite Treated Zone is a chemical barrier installed around the perimeter of your building, creating a protective zone that termites cannot cross without being exposed to treatment. This is our preferred and most comprehensive method of termite protection, providing long-lasting defense for your property.
Why We Recommend It
A treated zone offers:
Long-term protection with 8 years warranty
Proven effectiveness against all termite species
Continuous barrier that doesn't rely on termites finding bait stations
Cost-effective protection over the life of the treatment
Peace of mind with comprehensive coverage
Our Recommended Product: Termidor HE
We use Termidor HE (High Efficiency), a premium non-repellent termiticide that:
Is undetectable to termites, allowing them to contact and transfer the treatment throughout their colony
Provides superior colony elimination
Offers an industry-leading 8-year warranty when combined with annual termite inspections
Is registered and approved for use in Australia
Has a proven track record of protecting homes across Queensland
What's Included
Our comprehensive Termite Treated Zone installation includes:
Pre-treatment assessment – Detailed inspection to identify risk areas and determine treatment requirements
Perimeter barrier installation – Treatment around the entire building perimeter
Drilling and trenching – Drill holes spaced up to 600mm apart in concrete areas such as driveways, paths, and slabs
Trenching in garden beds – Careful trenching through garden beds and lawn areas where required, with restoration after treatment
Sub-floor treatment – If applicable, treatment to accessible subfloor areas
Application of Termidor HE – Professional application of treatment chemical to create a continuous protective zone
Detailed treatment diagram – A site plan showing all treated areas for your records
Comprehensive report – Documentation of the treatment for warranty purposes
Treatment Duration: All day (typically 4-8 hours depending on property size and complexity)
Visual Impact
You'll notice drill holes spaced along concrete areas around your building perimeter. These are typically 12mm in diameter and will be sealed after treatment. There may be minor disruption to grass and garden beds where trenching is required, though we take care to minimize impact and restore areas after treatment.
What Happens After
Allow treatment to settle – The treated zone needs time to establish. Avoid disturbing treated soil or concrete for 24 hours
Keep pets and children away – Restrict access to treated areas until dry and settled
Annual inspections required – To maintain your 8-year warranty, you must have annual termite inspections conducted by State Pest Management
Your treated zone creates an invisible barrier that will protect your property for years to come. With proper maintenance and annual inspections, you'll have peace of mind knowing your home is defended against termite attack.
Warranty
8-Year Warranty when using Termidor HE, provided:
Annual termite inspections are completed on schedule
No structural modifications are made that compromise the barrier
Treatment records are maintained
This is one of the longest and most comprehensive warrenties available for termite protection in Australia with the manufacturer backing up to $8 million per installation.
Preparing for Your Termite Treatment
Regardless of which option you choose, please prepare your property by:
Removing items from walls – Clear items and furniture away from external walls to provide access for inspection and treatment
Providing clear access – Ensure technicians can access all areas around the building perimeter, subfloor spaces, and roof voids
Restricting pets indoors – For Termite Baiting and Termite Treated Zone installations, please keep pets inside while we're working
If you have specific concerns or questions about preparation, our team will discuss these with you when booking your service.
