German Cockroaches
German cockroaches are one of the most challenging pests in South East Queensland. These small, light brown cockroaches are prolific breeders that commonly infest buildings, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere with warmth and moisture. Unlike other cockroach species, German cockroaches require specialized treatment due to their rapid reproduction, resistance to common insecticides, and preference for living indoors.

Important: German cockroaches are NOT covered by our standard general pest treatment and require this specialized service.
How it works
Our German cockroach treatment uses a comprehensive, multi-product strategy designed specifically to eliminate these resilient pests. This specialized approach targets cockroaches at different life stages and uses professional-grade products that overcome resistance issues.
Treatment Components
1. Internal Perimeter Spray with Growth Regulator
We apply a targeted spray treatment to the internal perimeter of your building using:
Growth regulator – Disrupts the cockroach life cycle, preventing nymphs from reaching reproductive maturity
Non-repellent insecticide – Undetectable to cockroaches, allowing them to contact and transfer the treatment throughout the population
2. Gel Baiting to Cupboards
Professional cockroach gel is strategically applied to:
Kitchen cupboards and pantries
Bathroom vanities and cabinets
Laundry cupboards
Any other areas where cockroaches are harboring
The gel attracts cockroaches and eliminates them through ingestion and secondary transfer.
3. External Spray Treatment
A repellent insecticide barrier is applied to the building exterior as required to:
Prevent cockroaches from entering from outside
Create a protective perimeter around your property
Address any external harborage areas
Two-Visit Treatment Program
German cockroach elimination requires a strategic two-visit approach:
Visit 1 – Initial Treatment
Comprehensive treatment of all affected areas
Application of all treatment products
Assessment of infestation level and harborage sites
Visit 2 – Follow-up Treatment (typically 2-3 weeks later)
Re-assessment of cockroach activity
Additional treatment to targeted areas as needed
Evaluation of treatment effectiveness
This two-visit strategy ensures we target both the existing population and any cockroaches that hatch from eggs after the initial treatment.
Treatment Duration: Approximately 45 minutes per visit

Preparing for Your Treatment
Proper preparation is critical for successful German cockroach elimination. Please complete the following before each treatment visit:
Before Treatment Day
Deep clean your kitchen – Remove all food debris, grease, and spills
Empty cupboards if possible – This allows better access for gel application
Vacuum thoroughly – Pay special attention to corners, cracks, and under appliances
Mop all floors – Clean all hard floor surfaces
On Treatment Day
Remove items from floor areas – Clear floors to provide technicians with better access to baseboards and perimeter areas
Remove dishes – Clear all dishes, utensils, and cookware from benches and sinks
Remove pet food and water – Take pet bowls, food, and water dishes away from treatment areas
Provide appliance access – If possible, pull out refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers slightly to allow treatment behind them
Clear bathroom vanities – Remove toiletries and personal items from under-sink areas
The better your preparation, the more effective the treatment will be.
After Your Treatment
To ensure maximum effectiveness of your German cockroach treatment:
Immediate Post-Treatment (24 Hours)
Do not vacuum or mop treated areas – Avoid cleaning for at least 24 hours to allow products to work effectively
Do not wipe down cupboards – Leave treated surfaces undisturbed
Keep surfaces dry – Avoid washing or wiping treated baseboards and perimeter areas
Ventilate your home – Open windows to allow fresh air circulation
Ongoing Care
Continue excellent sanitation – German cockroaches thrive on food debris and moisture
Fix water leaks – Repair dripping taps and eliminate moisture sources
Store food properly – Keep all food in sealed containers
Clean regularly – Daily cleaning of kitchen and bathroom areas
Remove clutter – Reduce hiding places by minimizing clutter

Full elimination typically achieved within 4-6 weeks with both treatments
